Did you all see “Garden State”? Did you love it? It was really good, huh? And it had probably one of the best soundtracks of all time (big ups to Amanda Demme for that one). Well, Zach Braff, the writer/director/star of “Garden State” wants to make another film. I think we should help him, don’t you? I mean, Garden State was really good.

Boom.
To thank you for your love and support over the last seven years, we wanted you, the fans, to be the first to see an exclusive sneak peek at the eighth and final season of DEXTER!
Welcome to a special ATX Festival FAQ! With the recent press release and explosion of awesome news, we’ve received a few inquiries in particular that we thought might easily be cleared up as some of you, our lovely, enthusiastic registrants, start planning for June. (That’s not sucking up - it’s just truth.)
Off we go!
Yay us! davidvienna:
The pitch for the pilot script, GOLD, that I co-wrote with Morty Coyle and which was developed by Kelly Brown, made it to the finals of the ATX Pitch Competition.
Like I said when we made the semi-finals, this is not a brag. I’m just proud of us. (Although, the pitch package was all Morty and Kelly.)
This means we get to go the ATX Television Festival in Austin this June and pitch the pilot to a panel of impressive TV mucky-mucks. Which mucky-mucks you ask?
- Bill Lawrence, Creator/Producer of Scrubs and Cougar Town
- Bryan Seabury, VP of Drama Development at CBS Network
- Liz Tigelaar, Creator of Life Unexpected & writer on American Dreams, Nashville, Revenge
- Kyle Killen, Creator of Lone Star & Awake
- Peter Billingsley (aka RALPHIE!), Executive Producer of Sullivan & Son, Dinner for Five, and Executive at Wild West Picture Productions
- David Hudgins, Executive Producer of Friday Night Lights & Parenthood
- Dina Hillier, Former VP of Comedy Development at Sony Pictures Television
Guys. Guys, this is so rad.
Directors Martin Scorsese and James Cameron have different ideas about the use of CGI in film:
“My big concern is that the image, ultimately, with CGI, I don’t know if our younger generation is believing anything anymore on screen. It’s not real.” - Martin Scorsese
“When was it ever real? There was kind of a wall there and nothing over there. There are 30 people standing around. There’s a guy with a boom mic, there’s another guy up on a ladder with his ass crack hanging out. There’s fake rain. Your ‘street, night exterior New York’ was a ‘day, interior Burbank’. What was ever real?” - James Cameron
This is my bestie, Maggie in a photo taken by the one and only Ryan Kelly. It’s a stunner, no?
